Season of RAD

My name is Alison Hoeke.

I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in March of 2018 and found Barbells for Boobs in May 2018 after listening to the CrossFit podcast that featured Ziona. I decided immediately that this was a group I wanted to be a part of.

Barbells for Boobs has provided so many opportunities for me over the past few years.

The scholarship paying for my gym membership while I went through treatment, the live zoom workouts when covid hit, (and continue today!) the many connections with women who have fought the same battles as me, and finally, the B student University.

Through these connections, I have learned to love my new body.

Heal my heart and have newfound hope for my future. I have ALWAYS been accepted here no matter my fears or differences.

The connections between the women, the coaches and the consistent opportunities to get involved.

I will be eternally grateful to Barbells for Boobs.

The stellar individuals we call coaches, who are the most genuine, loving, encouraging people I’ve ever met.  I encourage anyone who has a loved one diagnosed with breast cancer to tell them about Barbells for Boobs!
