Season of RAD

Hey y’all! My name is Erin.

I have been a part of Barbells for Boobs since 2017, fundraising at my local gym, CrossFit BlackHearts in NJ.  We were the fundraising State Champs 3 years in a row!

I got to hang and workout with Z a handful of times, learn about the organization and fell in love with all the incredible things they do.

Fast forward a few years, and I unexpectedly received my own diagnosis in January 2021.

At 33-years-old, I found out I had Stage 2B triple-negative invasive ductal carcinoma. You know, the super cool kind.  I immediately reached out to Z, and she walked me through the whole process of becoming a RAD athlete while providing love and support to make me feel heard and safe.

Going through this is sucky and scary.

I can honestly say the pros far outweigh the cons — I now have coaches Johnna (Donna) and Keisha (Kiki) and all of my boob sisters in my life, and I am counting down the days until I can hug them all.

Thank you to everyone who has donated and raised awareness for Barbells for Boobs. You are making the world of a difference in the lives of women just like me.
