Hello!I am Jessica McCartney. I’ve been a part of the BFB community since my diagnosis month of December 2020.

I was diagnosed with stage III, grade III, triple negative breast cancer on December 7, 2020 at 34 years old. This community immediately help me feel seen, understood, and not alone. It’s a safe place to ask the hard questions and get real answers. A place where you will be cheered on, and picked up when you are down. A place where lifelong bonds are built.

The people! Real people who have been where I’ve been, or who have committed their lives to supporting women with breast cancer. Their compassion runs deep. It is felt in every WOD, or mental health session, or supportive comment section in the FB group.

My attitude through treatment would not have been what is was/is without the wonderful connections I’ve made here.

I can’t wait for the next RAD B-student program to cycle around so I can continue to heal mentally and emotionally from what cancer does to us. Thank you to everyone who has support me, encouraged me, prayed for me, and told me to move! And thank you to everyone who has donated to any of the fundraisers I’ve posted. We need RAD (Resources After Diagnosis)! We need BFB (Barbells for Boobs)! XOXO SO much thanks!

Stronger Than Ever
